Research News

Dr. Sarah Wackerbarth has been awarded a $294,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute. Along with Steven Haist, M.D., Michael Doukas, M.D. MPA'01, and Stephen Wyatt, Ph.D., they will model patient and provider decisions regarding colorectal cancer screening. Dr. Wackerbarth has also received a grant from the American Cancer Society to study patient decisions regarding colorectal cancer screening.

Dr. Sarah Wackerbarth and Dr. Jeffery Talbert have received a grant from the Centers for Disease Control to examine the cost effectiveness of COX-II versus NSAIDS for chronically ill patient populations.



Outreach News

The Institute for Federalism and Intergovernmental Relations (IFIR) conference and seminar programs provide opportunities to interact with researchers, and practitioners from around the world in the sharing, development, and dissemination of research findings. Workshops include regular meetings of IFIR Researchers and seminars by visiting speakers. Special IFIR conferences bring scholars, policymakers and others together to discuss new developments in federalism and intergovernmental relations.

The Martin School is a member of a the Good Governance Consortium, a consortium of schools sharing a curriculum in international public policy and administration. Consortium funding allows faculty exchanges with institutions in Vienna, Turku (Finland), Louvain (Belgium), and Caligari (Sardinia) for short periods.
