Curriculum

The MHA degree program consists of an administrative core, a health services core curriculum, a practicum in health administration, and a final capstone project. The following represents a topical breakdown of the MHA course requirements.

Administrative Core
MHA students complete a 18-credit administrative core curriculum consisting of the following courses:

PA 622 Public Program Evaluation
HA 623 Decision Analysis and Decision Support Systems
HA 624 Information Systems in Health Care
HA 628 Personnel Management in the Public Sector
HA 642 Public Organization Theory and Behavior

Health Services Core

MHA students also complete a 20-credit health services core curriculum consisting of the following courses:

HA 601 Overview of the Health Care Delivery System

Practicum

Students have the opportunity to gain practical experience in health services administration through HA 711 Practicum in Health Administration.


Capstone

In order to integrate the knowledge and skills obtained throughout the curriculum, students complete a research project in HA 660 Decision Making in Health Care Organizations.
