The JD/MPA Program is a dual degree designed to prepare students for the practice of law and to serve in senior level administrative positions. The program, which was founded in 1984, is the only one of its kind offered in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

The JD/MPA degree program allows a student to earn both degrees in a total time of four years, one year less than if the degrees were earned independently.

The dual degree can be valuable for persons seeking careers as city managers, administrators of judicial and quasi-judicial organizations, staff members in governmental agencies, and legislative researchers, among others.
